Fooquake rocks Auckland

Cool Stuff, Thoughts Comments (0)

We love cool data as much as the next geek. So when Craig Miller and the Wairakei GeoNet crew posted up some interesting seismic graphs relating to the Foo Fighters concert, we thought we ‘ought to get in on that!

The Herne Bay (HBAZ) and Eden Park (EPAZ) stations are 1.5km and 2km from Western Springs, respectively, and recorded a strong low frequency signal during the Foo Fighters concert.

There were highs and lows through-out the night, most likely showing the absolute crowd pleasers, and those that only the die-hard loyal fans knew.

We’re pleased to say that the Web Boutique crew made up some of the 100,000 ground-stomping feet pounding the earth below – what a night!
