Last year for Christmas I was fortunate to visit Brisbane to see friends & family there. As is always the case with lengthy trips, there is list of jobs ‘to do’ before you even pack your bags. One of the things on this list was to build a website for BodySync, a personal trainer in Wellington, from scratch. Time always seems to speed up, and with the list getting longer it was never done before I left. But then I realised all I needed was a couple of hours unplugged from the internet, my MacBook Pro, and MAMP (a program for Mac’s that lets you run a local server and MySQL server).
Armed with this I boarded the flight in Wellington with the sole goal to finish this website before touching done in Australia 3 hours later. It’s amazing how much can be done when you’re unplugged from the internet, free from distractions. Needless to say the website was more than complete by the time I touched done, I quickly connected to Vodafone’s network (tethered from my iPhone) and uploaded the website files to our servers hosted in New Zealand.
Check out the finished website for BodySync here.
